Your Décolleté and How to Care for It

Vasseur Beauty

Décolleté, a beautiful French word meaning “wearing a low-neck dress,” is also the word we use to refer to our upper chest area, including the neck, cleavage and shoulder areas. The skin on the décolletage is one of the first places women show their age; this is because the area doesn’t have as many reparative oil glands and has less elastic and thinner skin tissue than our faces. Women often overlook the décolletage when it comes to skin care, not realizing they should be treating it with just as much care as their face. We’ve all come across a women with perfectly smooth, tight facial skin, and then noticed their saggy, wrinkled, hyper-pigmented chest and neck – this is what can happen when you ignore your décolletage!  The good news is that it’s not too late to change the destiny of your décolletage by changing your skincare regime from the chest up.

Retail Giant vs Skin Therapist!

skincarereabsorbed

Mine is better than yours…

I spent my morning at IDI (International Dermal Institute) for postgraduate skin and body therapy training in a class titled “Formulaworks”. This class offered by Dermalogica takes a deeper look at understanding Dermalogica Ingredients and Product Formulations.  As an Esthetician, I see the consumer market as an over saturated cesspool of false claims and hope in a retouched media ad. I also believe we as professionals are often disheartened when clients think “we’re just trying to sell them something”. In January, I was at a cosmetic store/retail boutique that also “sells” skin care products. There was a woman there that reached out to the “sales person” and asked her advice about what cleanser she should “purchase”. The customer said “Whenever I get a facial, the girl is always trying to sell me something.” My heart sank to the floor. I missed a golden opportunity to…

Ultimate nail polish suspension agent sum-up posting

Very detailed! Best blog of the many I have read on Frankening!

From head to foot

Dear readers,

in this posting I will try to sum up everything I learned about suspending glitter in clear nail polish. Most of it I learned from you, my readers! Thank you all so much for your feedback – I could have never done it without you and I’m so happy to see people getting in contact with each other here, on my little blog 🙂

What was the problem?

Every frankener experienced this: You have the brilliant idea to put glitter or pigments into clear nail polish, and it just sinks to the bottom and looks seperated. In other words: It doesn’t suspend in the clear nail polish because the clear nail polish usually is too thin to hold up the glitter. On top of that, in most countries it is not easy to buy a suspension base, so I thought there has to be a way to make…
